Each wheel is precisely matched to the vehicle in terms of its load capacity and size. Before the forged wheels can prove to be a reliable companion on all journeys, they undergo a comprehensive development and testing program. Each wheel model has to pass a large number of endurance tests in accordance with the strict Mercedes-Benz guidelines, all of which exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real road traffic situations, as well as material tests in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.
High-gloss turned or polished wheels must withstand additional tests such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully completed may the wheels be included in the product range as
original Mercedes-Benz forged wheels.
AMG forged wheels are supplied without tires, wheel hub caps, valve caps, wheel bolts and wheel locks.
