In December 1984, a new model generation was introduced in the mid-range series, which was designed as the successor to the 123 series. The cars were strongly oriented towards the compact class, with the aim of significantly reducing fuel consumption through aerodynamic improvements and the use of lighter materials. In 1989, a comprehensively revised model range was presented at the IAA in Frankfurt, which brought with it a number of innovations, including protective side strips, exterior mirror housings painted in the color of the car and improved seats. No wonder that the W124 series was also very popular as a police vehicle. The miniature model of the 230 E saloon W 124 is also part of this tradition. The precision model, which is hand-assembled from over 126 individual parts, not only impresses with a detailed representation of all interior details, but also with a white/green body and the 'POLIZEI' lettering on the driver and passenger side. Six parts (doors, hood and tailgate) of the 1:18 scale model can even be opened. The model is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging, including a screwdriver and glove to remove the model without leaving fingerprints on the glass or bodywork.
