Each wheel design is tested for load and dimensions in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz guidelines and extensive tests. A wide range of endurance tests are carried out, all of which exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real challenges in road traffic as well as examinations of the materials in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities. Bright-turned wheels must also pass highly corrosive salt spray and a 28-day climate change program. Only after all tests have been passed may the wheels be added to the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels. Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels are supplied without tires, wheel hub caps, valve caps, wheel bolts and wheel locks.
