Daimler motorized carriage (1886), blue, B66041416 | Worldwide delivery

On March 8, 1886, Gottlieb Daimler ordered an 'Americaine' carriage from the Wilhelm Wimpff & Sohn carriage factory in Stuttgart to equip it with an engine as a further test vehicle. The single-cylinder engine was modeled on the 'grandfather clock' and had a displacement almost twice as large as the engine in the riding carriage and an output of 1.1 hp. This motorized carriage was the first four-wheeled vehicle to be powered by a high-speed internal combustion engine. The miniature model of the Daimler motorized carriage is painted in the original colors, designed from injection-moulded metal and produced in the highest level of detail according to the original CAD data. It is a hand-assembled precision model made for Mercedes-Benz by Norev and is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging.
